A futuristic structure holds the long spa tradition of Merano: the beneficial properties of these waters, able to cure many diseases, were already known in ancient times, but this spa offers also a wellness center, a medical spa, swimming pools, a bistro and a wide garden allowing you to rest in the heart of Merano.
Already at the beginning of the XIX century, Merano was well known and appreciated by the Habsburg emperors and by the European aristocracy, not only because of the wonderful beauty of its unique landscape, but also for the beneficial effects of its waters. The hot springs flowing around the town and near the San Vigilio Mountain brought fame to Merano, since they contain a gas, Radon, particularly effective for curing allergies of the respiratory system, circulation diseases, rheumatisms, chronic articular pain, heart, skin and gynaecological diseases.
The new spa was opened in 2005. This is a true wellness center where you can, besides receive your treatments, rest, relax, practice many activities and meet people in the many facilities: 25 swimming pools, 13 indoor and 12 outdoor, different types of saunas, a Spa & Vital center covering 1400 sq m, with 26 rooms furnished with natural materials. The Spa & vital center offers massages and treatments with South Tyrolean products such as apples, grapes, wool, herbs, chestnuts, milk. In the Medical spa you can get a sports physical, a check up and medical consultation. There is also a quaint bistro where you can try the local specialties and enjoy a wonderful view of the park.
In the wide park, partly open to everybody and partly open only to the guests of the spa, there are the swimming pools, a Kneipp path, an underground steam bath, a waterfall, the geysers...

The Spa Park is open from 15 May to 30 September: daily from 09.00 am to 08.00 pm
During the winter months the park and outdoor pools are closed.
