Destinations: Rio Pusteria-Bressanone ski area

Skiing in Valle Isarco in the Dolomiti Superski

The Valle Isarco has 5 ski areas that meet the needs of all winter sports enthusiasts. Two of these ski areas are part of the Dolomiti Superski, the Bressanone-Plose and the Gitschberg-Maranza/Jochtal-Valles, for a total of 95 kilometers of slopes. Two small but much appreciated ski areas that attract families, young people, and skiers for the unspoiled nature, the short queues at the lifts, and the sun that shines on the well maintained slopes.

Bressanone-Plose ski area

The Bressanone-Plose ski area is located right on the mountain above Bressanone, Plose precisely, which is only 7 kilometers from this South Tyrol medieval city. An ideal destination for families who will like it for its slopes and for its splendid 360° panorama. The area has 40 kilometers of slopes of varying difficulty, most of them facing south, served by 7 lifts. The famous Trametsch slope also starts here, with its 9 kilometers and 1,400 meter altitude variation, it’s the longest in South Tyrol. Here you'll also find fun parks, toboggan runs, winter walks, shelters, and sunny terraces where you can relax.

Gitschberg-Maranza/Jochtal-Valles ski area

Gitschberg-Maranza/Jochtal-Valles is located a stone's throw from Rio Pusteria and offers 16 lifts for a total of 50 kilometers of ski slopes. The ski center Gitschberg-Maranza offers a spectacular view: at the summit, you can admire 500 peaks, including the Ötztal, Zillertal, and Stubai Alps. The slopes, easier downhill and more technical near the top, are very wide.

The Jochtal/Valles is most suitable for families. Award-winning for the services offered, it has certified ski schools, kindergartens, and classes on the snow, as well as sunny slopes of various levels of difficulty. The two centers are connected by a cable car and only one skipass is required.

Alongside these two ski areas, the slopes of Val di Funes, Velturno and Luson are also part of the Dolomiti Superski.
