Destinations: Mendola Pass ski area

Skiing in Mendola Pass, Ruffrè and Predaia

The picturesque ski resort of the Mendola Pass is located in the Alta Val di Non valley, on the side of the pass belonging to the Trentino region. This elegant resort lies at the foot of mounts Roen and Penegal and is surrounded by a breathtaking landscape. The atmosphere of the resort recalls ancient times, when it was a favorite destination for the Central European aristocracy. Thanks to its beautiful landscape and Belle Époque flair, the Mendola Pass is still today an important tourist resort both in summer and in winter.

If you love Alpine skiing you have at your disposal the ski runs in Ruffrè, Predaia and on the Mendola Pass. In Ruffrè and Predaia you can also practice nighttime skiing. If you prefer cross-country, try the center Regole di Malosco, at the foot of mount Penegal, with trails running through the forest and the clearings of the valley. Kids can have fun in the Nevelandia playground, with sledding and snow tubing slopes, whereas for beginners or for those who want to hone their technique there is a ski and snowboard school.

More than skiing

The Mendola Pass and its surroundings are perfect for snowshoeing, so much that in January the resort hosts the Ciaspolada, famous international snowshoe race on an 8 km long course, from Romeno to Fondo. Other activities alternative to skiing are ski mountaineering, ice skating on the beautiful Smeraldo lake and horse-drawn sleigh rides.
