With its 2603 metres above sea-level, the lake of Vedretta is certainly the biggest lake at high altitude in Trentino. In fact it covers a surface of more than 87000 square metres, with a maximum length of about 800 metres and a width of 180. Actually those dimensions are strictly connected to the perpetual snows and the weather, and can affect the water level. Moreover its capacity has been regulated according to hydroelectric necessities. Its effluent feeds the upper lake of Cornisello.
