Foliage on the Dolomites

You don’t have to go far away in order to see the foliage, namely the change of the colors on the leaves: just go on the Dolomites! When the autumn arrives, all the valleys lighten up with strong colors, from golden yellow to red, from orange to violet and on the mountains, the alpenglow seems more spectacular.

In the next weeks the forest will show their fantastic glory. The most famous places in South Tyrol, where you can see the real foliage are the Valle Isarco, the Val di Funes, the area of the Tree Peaks in the Dolomites, the Val d’Ultimo, Braies Lake, Val d’Ega, the Renon Plateau, and the beautiful Gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle in Merano.

In Trentino, however spectacular is the alpenglow in the Tovel Lake, Molveno Lake and Tenno Lake where the stunning forest reflects itself in the see, on the Alpe Cimbra, in the Val di Sole and the Val di Rabbi, the Brentonico Plateau, in the Val di Fiemme, in the Valli di Primero, and at the Ledro Lake.Very striking in this period are also the Pale di San Martino, to admire them in their splendor we recommend the autumn walk to Baita Segantini starting from Passo Rolle. Another magical and enchanting place, where autumn shows all its charm, is the Arte Sella, the great exhibition of art and nature in the woods and meadows of Val di Sella in Borgo Valsugana.

Even in the Belluno area the foliage is spectacular with its bright colors. Very attractive in this season are: the Valle del Mis with the Cadini del Brenton in Sospirolo, inside the Belluno Dolomites National Park, the Val di Zoldo with its characteristic mountain villages dominated from above by the Civetta and Pelmo, the Misurina Lake with a thousand shades and the picturesque Arabba in the Fodom Valley.
