Molveno: a holiday on the clear waters of the Molveno Lake

Molveno rises on the shores of the lake of the same name, at the foot of the Brenta Dolomites. This tourist resort stands out because its inhabitants consider of the utmost importance respecting nature and guaranteeing tourists' wellness, characteristics that in 2006 earned Molveno the Orange Flag of the Touring Club, a guarantee of tourist and environmental quality. Molveno has received another important recognition. Its lake has been awarded for the seventh time the most beautiful lake in Italy by Legambiente and Touring Club.

What to do in Molveno: lake, outdoor sports and trekking

The clear waters of the lake with its bright colours and the imposing peaks that are reflected in it make Molveno an irresistible destination for the many tourists who come here every year to have fun, relax and practice sports. Here in fact you can choose to practice the discipline you prefer: sailing, windsurfing, canoeing, mountain biking, tennis, football, volleyball, beach volleyball, paragliding, miniature golf, horse riding, archery, swimming and acquagym; or you can simply decide to relax and sunbathe on the beautiful shore.

The lake has always attracted sport fishing lovers since, thanks to its pure waters, in it live a large variety of fish like the marble trout, the carp, the Arctic char, the tench and the perch. Molveno cares also for its younger visitors, who here can take part to the shows of the Molveno Village, have fun on the exciting aerial acrobatic courses of the Forest Park adventure park and learn to know the animals and the rural life in the Didactic Farm of Malga Tovre. The center of Molveno itself isn't without charm, and definitely worth a visit are the ancient Taialacqua sawmill, still in operation, and the beautiful small Church of Saint Vigil.

There are many trekking trails, so different in their difficulty levels that they meet the needs of both expert trekkers and of those who are looking for an easy walk to admire the beautiful landscape. There are paths winding along the shores of the lake and the rivers of the streams, going through the forests or guiding you to the discovery of the uncontaminated nature of the Adamello Brenta Nature Reserve. Easy, even if quite long, is the lakeside trail, along which you can admire the blockhouses of Napoleon, the waterfall, and of course the beauty of this lake the poet Antonio Fogazzaro called "precious pearl in more precious casket". The paths and the vie ferrate going up to the breathtaking rocky pinnacles of the Brenta Dolomites start from the Pradel plateau, easily reached with the aerial tramway from the town center. An extremely beautiful and not too difficult path takes from the plateau to the Croz dell'Altissimo mountain hut, where the gaze can sweep over the wonderful surrounding peaks.
