The importance of turnips and potatoes in the nutrition history of Tyrol at the Gardens of Sissi

October 17, 2012 - The tourist season is coming to an end at the Gardens of Sissi, and so is the temporary exhibition Roor, Bulb & Co. A Hidden World of Wonder, that attracted visitors during the whole season. To celebrate the event, at 4 pm of Saturday October 20 at the Deuster hall of Trauttmansdorff Castle, the last conference dedicated to this exhibition will be held by Dr. Siegfried de Rachelwiltz, on the theme Turnips and potatoes: an insight on the nutrition history of Tyrol.

The meeting aims at emphasizing the importance of turnips and potatoes in the nutrition of people living in Tyrol, and how they influenced local history and culture.
