Park your car at Passo Pordoi. Here you find a track that leads to the Dolomites Queen: the Marmolada.
After a while you get to the Frderola Hut (in 20 min.).
In front of you there is the strong Gran Vernel rocky face - it is quite smooth and solid, so it contrasts with the thin and apparently fragile forms of other dolomitic peaks.
Here a nice, flat trail starts and leads to the Viel del Pan Hut in 1 hour: a splendid view on the Marmolada glacier.
