Falzes in Val Pusteria: trekking and winter holidays

Falzes lies along the Val Pusteria Sun Road. It is a typical alpine village offering pleasant walks and hikes in summer, a lot of fun for children in the adventure park, on the Issengo lake and cross-country trails in winter. All this in a sunny and peaceful environment.

Besides small treasures, such as churches, mountain pine distilleries and herbal gardens, it offers interesting free time opportunities for everybody.

In spring, summer and autumn you can walk among farmhouses, typical shepherds' huts, high peaks and themed and guided tours - for example "Le pietre raccontano" ("Stones tell a story"). There are many Nordic walking tours starting in the village. Anyway, it is also beloved for more engaging itineraries: for example, this is where the famous high route Alta Via di Fundres ends.

Just east of Falzes lies the little church of St Valentine, a late-Gothic building with a pointed portal, ogival windows and a star vault. This pilgrimage church was consecrated in 1434 and served as a place of pilgrimage for the inhabitants of Pfalzen on the days of harvest and thanksgiving.

In the hamlet of Issengo there is a wonderful lake, and in summer its benches are a meeting point for families and water lovers. In fact this is a bathing lake, and in the warmest season a rich entertainment program for children is offered. This is also where the Kronaction Outdoor & Fun Park is located: the biggest adventure park in South Tyrol, featuring over 100 stations and 8 different routes. Furthermore, children can have fun in the playground in the town center, at the the minizoo and at the manège.

In winter Falzes won't let you be bored: walks in the fresh snow, snowshoe walks, cross country skiing and sledging on the slope in Monte di Capolino (open and lit till 10 pm), ice skating at the sport center, with skate rental and ice skittles.
