Spring is the most colourful and fragrant season of the year. The flowers bloom, the days begin to lengthen, the meadows become a rainbow of colours and the intoxicating scents of the apple orchards in blossom waft through the air. In Trentino-Alto Adige, this spectacle of nature can be admired through the various spring initiatives including taste weeks, flower festivals, walks and much more. There are, in fact, various proposals for a day, a weekend or an alternative holiday.
South Tyrol
The first spring event will take place at the Sissi Gardens on 1 April, followed by the Merano Flower Festival, from 28 April to 1st Mai. In the surroundings of Merano, more precisely in Lana, the month of April will be entirely dedicated to blossoming with Lana in Bloom: a rich programme of hikes and bike tours, wine and food routes and much more. In Nalles, on the other hand, it will be the turn of the asparagus with a week dedicated to them from 1 April to 14 May.
Trentino
During this season in Trentino it feels like being immersed in a Monet painting. Nature awakens and the apple orchards are tinged with delicate shades of pink and white.
In Val di Non, the apple blossom period is truly spectacular. From 14 April to 2 May, Aprile Dolce Fiorire (April Sweet Blossom) will be on stage with tastings, days at the farms, itineraries, hikes, show cooking and tasty menus in the restaurants. Not to be missed on 23 April is the Quattro Ville in Fiore, an 11 or 5 km running race through the apple orchards.
