The Dolomites are spectacular in every season, but autumn has that magic that enchants you with its thousands of shades, the still mild climate, not too cold or hot, the typical delicacies that you can only find in this period such as the delicious chestnuts, the landscape that changes and becomes a painting of bright colours.
A multitude of sensations and emotions pervade the mountains. And, in order to fully experience the Dolomites at first hand, we recommend 5 experiences to try in this season, because even in the autumn months it is worth taking a holiday or just a weekend away.
1 The Chestnut Trail, a total immersion in the Dolomite foliage with this approximately 60 km-long itinerary through the chestnut groves of the Isarco Valley, from the Novacella Abbey in Bressanone to Roncolo Castle in Bolzano. The Novacella Abbey and Roncolo Castle are definitely worth a visit!
2 The South Tyrolean Wine Road, one of the most renowned routes for wine and food tourism, travel 42 km between Nalles and Salorno to taste the finest white and red wines of South Tyrol, such as Pinot Grigio or Schiava.
3 Treat yourself to a wellness holiday in our fabulous hotels with spa to prepare for winter and prevent seasonal ills.
4 Cycling tours along the Dolomites Cycle Path connecting the provinces of Belluno and Bolzano, from Calalzo di Cadore to Cimabanche-Dobbiaco. The section from San Vito di Cadore to Cimabanche is suggestive. Along the route you can admire Cortina in all its beauty, a stop is a must! Lake Mosigo in San Vito di Cadore is also very beautiful.
5 A visit to the Arco Castle and a walk on the Trentino side of Lake Garda. If you want to combine culture and sport, Arco and the Sarca Valley are the climbing capital: here you will find crags, climbing gyms and alpine routes, and the panorama is incredible, from the top you can enjoy a beautiful view of Lake Garda.
