Collepietra

Collelpietra is an administrative division of Cornedo all'Isarco, located in the Val d'Ega valley, and is surrounded by some of the massifs which make up the Unesco Dolomites: Sciliar, Catinaccio and Latemar. This mountain village is a destination for relaxing holidays in the nature, but there are also many cultural attractions, such as museums and castles, and scientific attractions, like the Max Valier Observatory and the Planetarium.

Collepietra, in the Val d'Ega valley, offers also a host of sport opportunities for those who love hiking and climbing: there are in fact many trails among the Sciliar, Catinaccio and Latemar. One of the most popular trails is the Sentiero delle Leggende, winding among meadows and forests and leading to the earth pyramids of Collepietra.

Culture lovers should visit the Coronedo Castle, which towers over the entire Val d'Ega valley, and the Museum of Collepietra, where you can learn about ancient local traditions, discover rural life and craftsmanship.

Another place worth visiting is the Planetarium, located in San Valentino in Campo (another administrative division of Cornedo all'Isarco), and the only one in Alto Adige. There is also the Max Valier Observatory of Obergummer, where you can start a journey into the heart of the universe, sitting comfortably on your seat.
