Emperor Maximilian I and the war against Venice

Bolzano Bozen

The conference celebrates the anniversary of the death of Emperor Maximilian I, filling the gap between medieval and modern times. Maximilian I was indeed closely linked to the city of Bolzano, Castel Roncolo and the territory of the ancient Tyrolean County.

The conference addresses various aspects related to the war that the emperor waged against Venice between 1509 and 1516, the same that defined the boundaries of Tyrol for four centuries (except for brief interruptions), until end of the First World War.

The conference will be held in German and Italian language.
