Peace Route and tour to Selva Castle

The mountains of Valsugana, the Lagorai group and the Vezzena plateau, offers many itineraries which can be faced on foot, by mountain bike or on a horseback and allow the discovery of beautiful sceneries and interesting corners of history and nature.
Through the area of Levico the European Path E5 winds and from the lake of Costanza leads to the Adriatic sea in about 600 km.
The pilgrims who, in the past, crossed all Europe made this path. From Vetriolo, via Levico they got to the Vezzena plateau.
The Path of Peace crosses Valsugana too, from the Vezzena plateau as far as the Lagorai, and it follows the line of the front during the I World War. Along the route it is still possible to see many evidences of the war. Who prefer a less binding path can make a journey to Castel Selva. Walking along the northern side of the Spa you get to via Silva Domini, continue as far as the climb to the Castle, and walk through the moat as far as you get to the ruins of the castle which was built in the VIII century to defend the area from the Barbarian invasions, and then rebuilt in the XV century by the prince bishops of Trent.
Another easy itinerary is the journey around the lake along the "Fishermen's Route", on the northern shore.
