Dro. Drodesera and climbs in Garda Trentino

Dro, in Garda Trentino, plays an important role in the panorama of Italian theater thanks to the Drodesera Festival. Here a modern spirits merges with the past and with the passion for sports activities. This village is in fact the oldest in the valley of the Sarca river and a favourite destination for free climbers.

Located between the lakes of Garda, Cavedine and Toblino, Dro hosts the Drodesera Festival, performing arts show and true workshop for the creation and development of contemporary arts, in the fascinating settings of the hydroelectric power station of Fies.

The surrounding nature, covered with vineyards, gives excellent fruits like plums and Nosiola grapes, used to produce the Vino Sano wine. A wilder and harsher nature characterizes the Marocche Biotope that, with a charming nature trail and the steep rocky walls, is a paradise for free climbers and mountaineers.

The town center is surrounded by an atmosphere of ancient times, with centuries old buildings, small arches and rock portals typical of the Upper Garda rural architecture, historical testimonies like the Roman bridge, the Torre Guaita of Pietramurata and the ancient churches that during the Christmas holidays constitute the setting of the charming market “Dro: Natale sotto i porteghi”.
