The Fairy Castle in Val di Fiemme
I am glad to suggest a beautiful Hotel in Trentino, in the heart of the wild nature of the mountain chain Lagorai ... in Val di Fiemme, a magic place that welcomes you overwhelming your eyes and heart with strong emotions: enjoy the purple nuances that wind the Pale di San Martino in the east and the Brenta Group in the west at sunset.
Following the main road to Cavalese, near the village, you can notice a building resembling the “Fairy Castle” overlooking the whole valley, lighted by sun and moon ... well, this is our destination, the Hotel Lagorai in Cavalese.
It lies in a central position, just a few steps away from the centre of the characteristic village; you get there driving along the fascinating, panoramic tree-lined avenue, ideal both for a walk and jogging.
The Hotel Lagorai in Cavalese, Trentino, could be described as the Wellness Hotel for the pleasant emotions it reserves, starting from hotel-keeper Allessandra's warm welcome and smile. The Hotel has been completely renovated and offers an elegant and trim ambience in typical mountain style. Entering the hall, embellished with the big majolica stove surrounded with a traditional wooden bench, you feel like breathing deeply to enjoy the fragrance of larch wood and to absorb the rays of the sun penetrating the large glass door... then peep out and admire the landscape!
But now it's snack time and Alessandra invites us to sit down in the spacious and well-lit bar, where you can taste home-baked cakes evey day! The hotel service includes the ¾ board, that is a rich buffet breakfast with biological corner, dinner with a choice of 4 menus, vegetables and cheese as well as the corner of home made cakes and fruit juice in the afternoon.
Nevertheless, our Wellness parcour has just begun... there are more surprises!
Spacious and well-lit rooms with a balcony with a fantastic view on the valley and pastures ... During my weekend I experienced something new: ”I was sitting on my balcony while sunbathing; suddenly I heard a “cowbell symphony” from afar, in the valley floor there were many herds of cows, goats and sheep coming back from the summer pasturing, guided by their shepherds and dogs on the way to the “Desmontegada”, one of the most evocative events in the area."
The Wellness Hotel features a Wellness & Beauty centre on two floors including a sauna department with direct access to the panoramic garden; gym with cardio-fitness "Technogym" equipment, indoor swimming pool with counter-current system, whirlpool and several relax corners to read and dream!
Wellness in the Vital Beauty Centre, where exclusive cosmetics are used – we just mention those by “ Henri Chenot” and “Maria Galland”. I suggest the second in particular, as it offers many face treatments, a luxury for your skin, ideal also for daily care at home (I always stock up on beauty masks, serum and creams as the quality-price ratio is excellent).
... Wellness through massages: allow yourself one or more massages; I tried the Shiatzu one and it was a great experience, thanks to the qualified staff of the Hotel. Book your treatments in advance, because the beauticioans are very good and it is hard to keep an appointment at the last minute.
And out of the Castle??
Val di Fiemme is renowned for Winter Holidays: the skipass Val di Fiemme / Obereggen, indeed, assures the access to the slopes of the Skicenter Latemar, Alpe Cermis, Bellamonte-Alpe Lusia, Passo Lavazè, Oclini, Passo Rolle, but also cross-country trails in the cross-country centre of Lake Tesero, coach drives by moonlight at Passo Lavazè and walks with typical snowshoes...
Val di Fiemme is famous for summer holidays: long beautiful cycle tracks and forest roads, easy paths suitable for the whole family along the slopes of the Lagorai massif or free climbing with experienced alpine guides; practice walls in Cavalese, just 200 m from the hotel! 60 km of routes between the Alpe Cermis and the cross-country Centre of Lake Tesero to enjoy Nordic Walking...
Moreover, Alessandra explains that the Hotel is surrounded by an uncontaminated "wilderness" that reminds the Great North, a secure refuge for deers, chamois and eagles in the majestic Nature Park Paneveggio and Lagorai.
