Christmas Market on the Pinè Plateau

The village of Miola is the most densely populated in the municipality of Baselga di Pinè, on the Pinè Plateau and Valle di Cembra valley. During the Christmas period, from the 8th of December to the 8th of January, it hosts a picturesque and deeply felt event: El Paès dei Presepi, during which the village is full of nativity scenes and the main square hosts the Christmas Market.

For more than twenty years this event, made possible thanks to the aid of all citizens, attracts a lot of visitors, fascinated by the cosy atmosphere and the spirit of Nativity you can feel everywhere: there are more than hundred handmade nativity scenes, placed under arches and arcades and on the windows of houses and barns. The main square hosts a Christmas Market selling food, handicrafts, cold meats and cheeses, fruit infusion and honey of the Pinè Plateau and of the Valle di Cembra valley. There will be also entertainment, with Christmas choirs, food stands, shows for kids, horse-drawn carriage rides and warm glasses of mulled wine.

Not to miss:

• Nativity scenes game: find the mysterious objects hidden in the nativity scenes. If you get to visit at least the half of them, you will get a prize and a free ticket for the Ice Stadium
• Food exhibition in the local restaurants
• The Gher. In the main square you can visit the traditional tent house of Mongolian shepherds
• The moving nativity scene of Mario and Chiara Arnesin, created in 15 years of work and love, composed by 75 moving statues. It is placed inside a fascinating arch, with other 5 nativity scenes made of natural materials.
