Welcome in the asparagus triangle: this holiday region boasts an ancient gastronomic tradition. A hundred years ago, indeed, the rich families from Bolzano used to go for asparagus in Terlano. Here one of the nicest sauces, the "Bozner Sauce" was first made to be eaten along with asparagus and smocked ham (the so-called "Easter ham").
Asparagus are grown by local growers and sold to the restaurants in Terlano, Vilpiano and Settequerce, that take part into this event. You can buy these vegetables as a private, too. The gastronomic highlight takes place in April and May.
Moreover... in Villabassa you find one of the greatest fun parks in South Tyrol! In 2004 Villabassa was awarded as "Children-friendly municipality". On the Renon there is the first Llama and Alpaca breeding in Italy and in the meadows of Hut Kaser at Soprabolzano you can admire these animals.
