Tires, “the mountain pearl”  

In the past the pioneers of mountaineering used to reach the high peaks by bike. From 23 to 30 may 2009 the climbing purists will have the opportunity of reliving those epic feats with the “Alpine pearls mountain week”. The wonderful resort of Tires, in the heart of Catinaccio, characterized by a sustainable holiday respecting nature, offers trekking with expert guides. Every day you will discover new wonders of these landscapes with the walks in the natural path, where the first flowers bloom and the snow melts driving the old venetian sawmill. This week is also characterized by gastronomy: the restaurants offer typical dishes of the tradition of Tires. Reductions for guests coming by car leaving the car keys at the hotel for min, four days: they will receive a book with the most beautiful tours around the Catinaccio and the “Flyer” electric bike for one day.

Discovering Collepietra

Typical dishes, relax and an enchanted landscape. Cornedo and Collepietra will show their small and big treasures from 6th to 13th June 2009 in the “Alpine pearls culture week”. Don’t miss the chance if you want to visit the Castle of Cornedo, rising in an imposing way at the beginning of the Val d’Ega. Hier, among the monumental rooms and the picturesque yard you will have the impression of living the feats of the medieval knights. The sunny days will invite you to have a walk in the ethnographic museum, discovering the local traditions, and to visit the peculiar pyramid path, with remains of the glacial age, and nights will be magical looking at the sky from the astronomical observatory in San Valentino di Sopra.

A walk trough the farms, the pastures and refuges between Carezza and Nigra to discover the old crafts, slowly eclipsed by globalisation. From 30th May to 6th June 2009 with the “Traditional pearl week” you will have the opportunity of rediscover the Tyrolean peculiarity in the activities, in the musics and in the flavours of the rural cooking: smiths, basket weavers who will show how to weave a pannier, but also textures and knittings, the village bands, the “knödel”, the “Holzhacker”-pasta, the “Kaiserschmarrn”.

In the Catinaccio with Hans Kammerlander  

Climbing, golf, bike, trekking. Nova Ponente, Obereggen, Ega and Monte San Pietro organize the “Sport active week” from 13th to 20th June 2009. A full immersion in nature and sport with an exceptional guide: Hans Kammerlander, world-known extreme climber, will guide the guests in the mountains of Catinaccio and Latemar and present his new film. The week also includes walks discovering spring herbs and mountain flowers, stopping in the huts for a barbecue with live music, a brass concerto in the mine in Nova Ponente and tasting of typical products and wines from South Tyrol.
