The Witches’ Skitour

This is a must in Alpe di Siusi, even though the place, is already the favourite resort of many skiers, hikers, snowboarders and families, of course.
The stations are called Spitzbühl, Panorama, Goldknopf (Punta d’Oro). Seven fantastic slopes, great fun in the beautiful snowy Dolomites. What about the location? Alpe di Siusi, the widest Alp in Europe, is situated at the foot of the Sciliar. Moreover, exacting skiers will find a special tour … the Witches’ Tour!

According to the local legends, many witches were brought to trial at the beginning of the 16th century in these places and from then on their spirits are still whirling in the air. The Witches’ Skitour consists in a seven-stage journey which can start both in Ortisei and from the Spitzbuehl or Campaccio car parks, to reach then a funfair, the Florian track, an exciting tunnel under the snow, the Witches' Park, with life-size figures, situated at the arrival of the sixth station (Mezdi), where you arrive from Mt. Piz, Sanon and Leo Demetz.
The tour ends with the Bullaccia slope. People say that the witches, tired of their broom flights, stop here and take rest on the benches!
