Heavenly Scents Ungodly Stench
Merano | from 01.04.2010 to 15.11.2010
The exhibition “Heavenly Scents Ungodly Stench” will take place in the Gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle until November 15. The exhibition explores the universe of olfactory perception with relation to the world of plants, analyzing historical, botanical and chemical aspects.
The exhibition will take place in different areas of the gardens and there will also be many side events. The second floor of the coach house will host interactive stands dedicated to the 12 main plants from which the essential oils used in modern perfumery are extracted: images, fragrances and audio files will give you a multisensory experience. The basement is dedicated to the human sense of smell and tries to answer some important questions: how do we perceive smells? What connection is there between smells and memories? And many others.
Side events, workshops and meetings hosting many experts will take place from May 26 to September 1.
