The natural parks of Dolomites

As of today, many areas of the Dolomites have been designed and declared officially protected; of course, the areas already exploited for touristic reasons shall remain as they are, and the areas still to protect will easily defend themselves for the while, as they are generally quite wild. The thrust towards nature protection, in Italy, is due to three main grounds:

•  the wishes of many environmentalists
• the official reposte of the Italian State and Regional laws
• the pressures of the EU and other international bodies such as IUCN
