On Alpe di Siusi harmony and luxury are spelled Hotel Chalet Tianes
I decided to spend my summer holiday on the Alpe di Siusi plateau, in the Dolomites. The view takes my breath away, the crisp air clears my head, and the lush green meadows relax my body and soul. In this wonderful place rises Hotel Chalet Tianes, the hotel I chose for my holiday of relaxation and wellness.
This new hotel, opened in December 2010, was designed with taste down to the last detail. The decades long experience of the Piccolruaz family, owners of another 4 stars hotel, allowed for the creation of this special accommodation facility where everything, from the structure to the furnishings and to the decorations, speaks of elegance and beauty. When I enter the hotel a smiling, attentive staff welcomes me and takes me to my room at the third floor, from where I enjoy a breathtaking view.
I fully intend to relax and enjoy the skillful hands of Renate, the masseuse of the hotel. She gently describes me the variety of massages offered in the wellness center and suggests I should try the Lomilomi. This Hawaiian massage is not widespread in Italian spas, but Renate has decided to learn and offer this holistic treatment to the guests of the hotel.
In the Hawaiian language lomilomi means “massage”. During this treatment the masseuse uses oils, essences, and her hands and forearms to perform slow, deep and rhythmic movements that helps soothe even the most painful muscle tension. Inspired by the rhythmic and graceful movement of waves, the massage begins at the nape to continue on the back, arms, hands, legs and feet. Then the treatment is repeated on the front. This Hawaiian massage has beneficial effects on the lymphatic, circulatory, respiratory, and digestive systems, and to the muscles.
After the treatment I feel very relaxed and decide to sunbathe on the meadow at the border of the swimming pool. With the massage, the mountain air and a tea of calming and refreshing herbs I reach the goal I came here for: pure and true relaxation.
During my dinner I try a fine local wine and specialties of traditional South Tyrolean cuisine, served by the nice staff of the restaurant. After a quiet night and a restoring rest I enjoy an abundant breakfast with home-made jams and local bread.
Later I go back to the wellness area to try a facial with massage. Renate proudly explains that each product used in the treatment, included exfoliation, mask and cream, is completely natural and chosen according to skin type. After the facial I decide to enjoy the steam bath and panoramic Finnish sauna.
Hawaiian massages, tradition and balance of body and soul: this is a luxury experience I plan to repeat soon, to face the hectic pace of modern life with renewed energy.
