The exhibition Dolomites – UNESCO World Heritage Site
Bolzano | from 07.03.2010 to 21.11.2010
Reinhold Messner dedicates to the Dolomites the exhibition Dolomites – UNESCO World Heritage Site. Site of the exhibition, that will be open until November 21 2010, is the Messner Mountain Museum of Firmiano Castle in Bolzano. The route of the exhibition will guide you to the discovery of the wonderful Dolomites through paintings and drawings, pictures and finds.
The exhibition is divided in three sections: in the first there are canvasses and watercolours covering a period that goes from the XIX century to nowadays; in the second section there is the projection of stereoscopic pictures of Albert I of Belgium and of the climber from Cortina Dibona during their climbs. The route ends with a collection of finds, such as pitons and snap links, found on the Dolomites, that testify to the technical evolution of climbing equipment from 1890 up until today.
