Motorbike itinerary: on the passes of the Giro d'Italia from Cavalese to Arco

• Starting point: Cavalese.
• Drive along the SS 48 and get to San Lugano pass entering the Province of Bolzano.
• Continue along the SS 48 as far as Ora.
• Enter the SS 12 and get to Egna.
• Continue along the SS 12 as far as San Michele all'Adige in the Province of Trento, via Salorno.
• Get to Trento and continue to Monte Bondone along the SP 85.
• Continue to Arco along the SP 85 and the SS 45 bis.
• From Arco enter the SS 88 to Ronzo-Chienis, Santa Barbara (1165 m) and return to Arco.

This itinerary starts in Cavalese, which has been the residence of Trento sovereign-bishops, and featuring many important and interesting medieval buildings. The medieval palace of the Magnificent Community of Fiemme is worth visiting. At the beginning of the town there is the seventeenth-century church of San Vigilio and the Pieve dell'Assunta, another important church dated back to the 12th century. All that is included in the unique scenery of the Pale di San Martino, the Lagorai Chain and the Massifs of Mount Corno and the Latemar.
From Cavalese enter the Province of Bolzano driving through Ora and Egna. Before entering the town of Ora on the right you will see the well-known St. Peter's church, which collapsed because of the impetuousness of the river that flows across the town. Upon the hills you can find the church of St. Daniel am Kiechlberg, one of the first gothic buildings in South Tyrol.
In Egna you can visit the New Market, founded in 1189, or walk along the main street surrounded by porticos and fifteenth-century houses that recall Bolzano’s porticos. But you can also visit the Museum of Popular Culture that reconstructs the life of a middle-class South Tyrolean family in the XIX century. 

From here move towards Trento, which is worth a visit. In fact you can enter the public walks of the old town centre as far as the Cathedral or the Buonconsiglio castle, the old seat of the famous Council of Trent and, nowadays, of many museums. 
From Trento continue to Monte Bondone, the mountain of Trento. Here nature lovers will appreciate the Natural Integral Reserve and the Alpine Botanic Garden, boasting over 2000 species of plants and flowers from the five continents.

From Monte Bondone descend to Arco and then climb again to S.Barbara at 1165 m above sea level. In particular, Arco is worth a visit as it was an important tourist resort for the nineteenth-century foreign nobles. Arco is the end of this journey.
