The sun shines always bright in Val di Sole, Western Trentino. Over 3.000 m.-high peaks crown this wide valley. Other famous massives dominate it: the Brenta Group, the Ortles-Cevedale and Adamello-Presanella. The northern area belongs to the Stelvio National Park and the southern one to the Adamello Brenta Nature Park. Small villages lie in the valley floor along the river Noce, that is ideal to go in for canoeing, rafting and hydrospeed in summer. A 50-km-long cycle path winds along its course. Several alpine lakes (Lago dei Caprioli, Lakes Corvo, Cevedale and Presena) are situated at high altitude or in a panoramic position.
Waters both in Val di Rabbi and Val di Pejo have therapeutic properties and two Spa centres have been recently opened in Rabbi and Pejo – they are recommendable for various therapies of the modern hydrothermal medicine.
In winter Folgarida, Marilleva, Pejo and Passo Tonale offer 290 km of perfectly groomed ski runs, while in summer it is possible to ski on the Presena glacier.
During your holidays in Val di Sole you can also visit stately homes and historic sites, churches and castles, for example Castel Caldes, the Samoclevo Fortress and the Ossana Castle or the ethnographic valley museum in Malé.
How to get there by car:
Brennero Motorway (A22), exit Trento or preferably S. Michele all'Adige, then main road SS 43 via Mezzolombardo, Cles and main road SS 42, that goes through the whole Val di Sole.
