Bladen Holiday: feel at home and fully enjoy the Dolomites
When I arrived in this hotel, I immediately felt at home. Here in the charming resort of Sappada, in the province of Belluno, the staff of the Hotel Bladen knows how to put their guests at ease. I booked without having to choose between half and full board: you can decide day by day the type of service you prefer. Freedom and comfort is what I felt during my stay, what a wonderful sensation! With my husband I left the luggage in our room and hurried for a snowshoeing tour among the snowy beauties of the Dolomites.
At the Hotel Bladen you can truly and fully enjoy your holiday in the mountains practicing sports like Alpine and cross-country skiing or going for winter walks. 150 meters from the hotel there are modern ski lifts and the winter playground Nevelandia, the perfect solution for parents wanting to spend an untroubled holiday with their kids, thanks also to the fact that the guests of the hotel have at their disposal a babysitting service for children over 3 years of age.
It was a cool and sunny day and after a two hour snowshoeing tour and lunch in a mountain chalet at an altitude of 2,000 meters we went back to the hotel. The afternoon was spent relaxing in the new wellness center including saunas, steam baths, multi-sensory shower with chromotherapy and aromatherapy, Scottish shower, whirlpool bath for two and a romantic room we tried right away enjoying a chocolate bath with salts and essential oils.
The beauty treatment lasted for about an hour, and in the end we were offered a sweet cup of hot chocolate with whipped cream and fresh fruits. After this unique and relaxing experience I decided to read one of the many books in the relax room, sitting on the ergonomic chair near the fireplace, while my husband was trying the snowflake massage, a relaxing full body treatment. The wellness center is always open until 10 pm, a rare occurrence in the hotels of the Dolomites.
Booking the Private Spa you can stay in the wellness center well after midnight, so we decided to make the most of this opportunity and enjoy this experience to the fullest, from the afternoon into the night. At about 9 pm we reached the bar of the hotel, where we tried the “Tagliere Sappadino”, a large serving of local cold cuts, cheeses, mushrooms and home-made jams and honey, with a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon. Just delicious! At 10 pm we went to the Private Spa and relaxed with baths, whirlpool baths and a glass of fine prosecco until 1 am.
The following day we tried a meal prepared by the chef: a traditional and refined cuisine taking into account individual dietary needs, especially of people suffering from food intolerances. This hotel is in fact a member of the AIC (Italian Celiac Association) and offers special dishes for people who are allergic to gluten.
We spent a wonderful holiday at the Hotel Bladen, going out for a walk and skiing on sunny slopes, enjoying an excellent wellness area and meals prepared with fresh, local and home-made products. We can’t wait to go back this summer and try this wonderful adventure again, in a hotel surrounded by the magical and unforgettable landscapes of Sappada.
