Falcade and San Pellegrino Pass: summer and winter tourist resorts for your outdoor holidays

Falcade and San Pellegrino: a tourist resort offering a lot of fun to everyone. Alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, skitours, snow tubing, winter and summer hikes, playgrounds, mountaineering, mountain biking and romantic evenings spent in the many chalets admiring the sunset on the Dolomites. The two resorts are part of the famous Trevalli Ski Area, stretching over Falcade, the San Pellegrino Pass, Moena and Bellamonte, and are included in the Dolomiti Superski: 100 km slopes, 27 lift facilities and snow cover guaranteed on the 100% of the tracks.
The San Pellegrino Pass features 64 km slopes, connected to Falcade through the prestigious Col Margerita cableway, while among cross-country skiing lovers well known are the Alochet center, with tracks winding through the magnificence of the woods, and the Falcade center, with several tracks, one of them floodlit, and a school camp where you can learn the basic techniques.
The Skitour of Love is really charming: a romantic route connecting the three valleys, famous for the beauty and integrity of the environment, included in the Paneveggio Nature Reserve.
Here you can enjoy also a modern snowboard park in Le Buse, near Falcade, perfect for acrobatic tricks on your board, exciting rides on the colourful snow tubing tubes, ski schools, snowshoeing, ice climbing and ice skating, dog sledding and much more. The evenings offer you a lot of fun in the chalets, shows and torchlight descents on the snow.

In summer this area is ideal for children: a well equipped playground has been built on the Falcade Plane, where children can jump, run and meet new friends. Moreover, this area is perfect for both easy bike tours, suitable for the whole family, and more difficult ones up to the refuges or following the route of the Giro d’Italia, that in the recent editions included the San Pellegrino Pass.
If you are looking for a healthy holiday you can choose from the many paths going from Falcade to the Focobon Valley, to Valfredda or to Malga Ciapela, whereas on the pass you can practice Nordic walking, follow the old trenches going back to the First World War, or take the Haute Route n. 2.
If on the other hand you are looking for complete relaxation, in Falcade you can practice sport fishing in a private lake or in the Biois stream, and not far from the village, in Vallada Agordina, you find a well equipped riding school.

Discovering traditions

Nature is not the only feature of this land included in the Valle del Biois valley, one of the most beautiful valleys of the Dolomites, stretching among the Marmolada, Civetta and Pale di San Martino, surrounded by the Focobon group and by the Cime d’Auta, and crossed in its whole length by the Biois stream.

The territory features many hamlets characterized by typical buildings called tabiŕ and by the many churches: a true attraction for art lovers, who can also visit the Augusto Murer Museum, with a rich collection of works, sculptures and paintings by the artist from Falcade.

This land attracts also many gourmets. The cuisine is simple, genuine and varied: main courses like home-made pasta flavoured with poppy, lasagna da fornel, papazoi (small flour dumplings) and casonziei; second courses like game meat, pastin, salami and local cheeses. You can try delicious desserts like the carfogn, fried ravioli filled with poppy seeds, and at the end of the meal sip a good glass of flavoured grappa.
