The Pelmo

Majestic in its regal isolation, wonderful in the harmony of its peculiar architecture, the Pelmo, the legendary "God’s throne", dominates the middle and lower Boite Valley. This colossal structure is interrupted only by a deep north-south cleft that culminates in "la Fessura", a high pass that separates the main massif from the Pelmetto. Forcella Staulanza can be seen to the west, at the foot of Pelmetto: it is a good pass to Valzoldana and Val Fiorentina.
The Pelmo gives one the chance to set out for beautiful excursions and to reach marvellous belvederes. Together with the Civetta, it has always been one of many favourite destinations of all mountain climbers.
